PRODUCT HANDLING AND DISPOSAL
FOR BEAR DETERRENT AND DOG REPELLENT

DID YOU KNOW ?

Bear Deterrent and Dog Repellent are used as a last resort option and are most effective when sprayed in the eyes, nose, and mouth of an aggressive bear or canine.

Using pepper spray for unintended use may attract wild animals, not deter them!

STORAGE

Store Bear Deterrent upright and avoid placing weighted items on heads (nozzle) of bear and dog sprays as this may cause damage and malfunction.

When carrying bear and dog sprays, use holsters or travel containers designed for these products and keep them easy to access.

Store between 50ºC and -15ºC (122ºF to 5ºF).
Spray functions best between 0ºC and 25ºC.

CAUTION: Product contents are under pressure and canisters may explode from sources of high heat including direct sunlight and flame. Bear Deterrent is non-flammable when sprayed.

AFTER USE CARE AND EXPOSURE

Avoid touching your face (eyes, nose, skin and mouth) after spraying Bear Deterrent or Dog Repellent.

Wash hands with warm water and a gentle grease removing soap as soon as possible. If sprayed on hair and body, shower and cleanse with baby shampoo.

Remove any clothing exposed to spray. Cleanse garments initially by hand with a gentle grease removing dish soap. It may take several washes for the oily residue to work itself out of the fabric.

CAUTION: If exposed to spray, get plenty of fresh air.  Do not take internally. If ingested DO NOT INDUCE VOMITING. Consult a physician. View product SDS (Safety Data Sheet).

DISPOSAL AND EXPIRY

Our Bear Deterrents and Dog Repellents expire after 3 years. Expiration dates are stamped on every can. Replace your product once it has expired.

Why? Components wear down over time and pressure in the canister will decrease which may cause product malfunction and compromise your safety.
